believein（believe in的用法解析）
一、 用于believe in sb [sth ]，表示相信或信任某人或某物，共有以下四种用法：
1.信仰。如：
You grew up in an agnostic household and have never been able to bring yourselfto believe in God.
你在一个信奉不可知论的家庭里长大，一直都无法信仰上帝。
He believes in God. 他信仰上帝。
I believe in Christianity.
我信仰基督教。
2.相信……的存在。如：
I don't believe in ghosts
我不相信有鬼。
I believe in life after death.
我相信人死后生命会以某种形式存在。
Do you believe in magic?
你相信魔法真的存在吗？
Do you believe in ghosts? 你相信有鬼吗?
3.信任，信赖。如：
Nobody believes in him. 没有人信任他。
比较：I can believe him, but I cannot believe in him. 我相信他说的话是真的，但是不相信他的为人。
believe表示相信某人说的话是真的或相信某事会发生(或已经发生); 而believe in却多表示信赖某人或信仰某事物,相信其存在或价值,其后常接真理、宗教一类的词,接sb 作宾语则指相信某人的人格或能力。
I believe him, though his story sounds unlikely. 我相信他说的话，尽管听起来不大可能。
Some of his supporters have stopped believing in him. 他的一些支持者已经对他失去信心。
If you believe in yourself you can succeed.

I believe in my good friend, tom.

4.相信……的真实性。如：
I believe in progression, in taking risks, in never getting stale.

I believe in the institution of marriage.

He does not believe in fate.
他不相信命运。
二、 用于believe in doing sth ， 表示相信做某事有好处、可行、应该的。含义是“相信（某种事物的）价值，认为某事好（对、正确、可接受）”如：
He believes in getting plenty of exercise. 他相信多做运动必有好处。
They believe in letting children make their own mistakes. 他们相信（认为、赞成）让孩子们自己出错有好处。
I don't believe in getting what by underhand method.
我认为以不光明的手法获取想要得到的东西是不应该的。
The government most assuredly does believe in organic farming.
政府确实坚信有机耕作切实可行。
He doesn’t believe in hitting children. 他不赞成打孩子。
